PAWS sanctuaries ARE NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC but we do schedule a limited number of special events throughout the year. You'll find our event calendar below.
EVENT CANCELLATIONS DUE TO THE COVID-19 VIRUS The health and safety of our supporters, volunteers, employees, and the animals who live at our sanctuaries, is a priority for all of us at the Performing Animal Welfare Society (PAWS). Out of an abundance of caution, we are cancelling all events at our ARK 2000 sanctuary in San Andreas until further notice.
2022 EVENTS
SAVE THE DATE PAWS International Captive Wildlife Conference November 11, 12, 13 Sacramento, CA
The PAWS International Captive Wildlife Conference will take place November 11-12, 2022, in Sacramento, California, with an optional visit to the ARK 2000 sanctuary in nearby San Andreas on November 13. We are lining up an array of exceptional speakers for this in-person conference that will address issues involving big cats, cetaceans, elephants, and more. Stay tuned for more information!
Events happen rain or shine! *SEEING THE ELEPHANT — Dates listed above are for the 1-day getaway. If you are booking a 2-day getaway, you will arrive on Friday and depart on Sunday. **ARK 2000 OPEN HOUSE EVENTS — At PAWS' open house events guests board shuttles to visit ARK 2000's bear, lion, tiger, leopard and elephant habitats. Upon exiting the shuttle at each stop you will be walking on grass, dirt, gravel, and some paved surfaces, so please remember wear comfortable shoes. PAWS management, keepers and volunteers will be on hand to tell you about PAWS' animals, the work we do, our sanctuaries, and to answer questions. A gift shop will be available on the day of the event. (We accept cash, checks and major credit cards.) You may not touch any animal and all guests are required to stay a safe distance away from the animals.
