Meet
Morris

Morris, a tiger born into captivity, spent his early years at a roadside zoo that bred wild animals so they could sell photo and play sessions with their cubs. When the zoo shut down, more than 100 animals urgently needed placement. PAWS was one of several reputable sanctuaries to offer a lifelong care – welcoming eight tigers, including Morris, in 2017.

The 2022 passage of the Big Cat Public Safety Act marked an important turning point, banning public contact with big cat cubs in the U.S. Before this law, cubs were cruelly separated from their mothers shortly after birth, subjected to constant handling, and discarded once they grew too large to be handled.

Morris is considered to be a very mellow tiger who is inquisitive and loves watching everything going on around him. He prefers to spend his days basking in the sun or playing with his favorite toy, a large enrichment ball.
