Meet
Casey

Casey, a female mountain lion, arrived at our sanctuary on March 18, 2025. She was one of several animals seized from the Barry R. Kirshner Wildlife Foundation in Butte County by the California Department of Fish as the result of a criminal investigation involving animal welfare related violations of the California Fish and Game Code.

Although her exact date of birth is unknown, Casey is believed to have been born around 2012.

Curious and sociable, Casey has an engaging personality. She enjoys sleeping in her cozy den, but the moment she hears her caregivers approach, she emerges with a welcoming purr and a friendly “chirp.” Her face is strikingly beautiful, with bright, expressive eyes.

Casey enjoys her peaceful, spacious habitat, where she can climb elevated platforms to take in the sights, scents, and sounds of nature around her – a place where she can live more like the wild cat she was meant to be.
